Cats from Sóller {Mallorca}

carrer de santa apollonia

There are two types of cats that live in Port de Sóller on the Balearic island of Mallorca.

The first type is feral and lives near the restaurants where they get enough food from tourists to go about their day. These cats are often very timid.

The second type consists of house cats that couldn't care less about the proximity of tourists.

The cats in the pictures below were napping in the Carrer de Santa Apollonia, a small and picturesque alley right behind the Port de Sóller.

P.S. If you can't find these cats, they are probably hanging out on the terrace of the restaurant So Caprichos.

christmas presents for cat lovers

  1. Oh how I love some of the close ups and I wish I could be there watching them either purr or run away from me:)

  2. I've been told I must let sleeping kitties lie otherwise I get a smack paw on my nose.
    These kitties look very contented napping so I'll just back away quietly

  3. Somehow, I don't think I wanna disturb any of these kitties.. they look to tired or like they just ate a big meal & it's time to sleep so ya better not bother me or see this claw??? Hey I can get the hint! Have a nice day & an even greater weekend! hugs

  4. Cute kitties. It's hard for me to imagine feral cats skulking about, but I suppose we have feral lizards, so it shouldn't be that outlandish. LOL.

  5. It looks like they live in a very beautiful place. I hope the tourists are generous with the feral cats.

  6. What a delightful sleeping cat photograph. It has made me smile!

    (PS Some of your Rafflecopter pics don't seem to be there!)

  7. Thanks for the share. It's really beautiful there. We sure did like that up-close of that kitty sleeping there. So very cute. We are going to see about that book. Looks like a fabulous read. Have a great International Cat Day everyone.
