Najac is exactly how you would imagine a picturesque French village. Built along a ridge above a bend of the Aveyron river, Najac has many little shops and restaurants and is dominated by a 13th century fortress castle.
The village is tiny (less than 1,000 inhabitants). Yet it has a local celebrity: a castle cat.
”I photographed the castle cat on the old road towards the 13th century castle ruins,” says Werner Gladines from the Belgian travel blog Dichtbij en Ver Weg. “The cat was already on the wall when we were walking towards the castle, and two hours later it was still there. She posed like a real diva.”

ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent ginger cat, obviously quite content in its gorgeous surroundings! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky kitty to live in such a beautiful place. It suits her.
ReplyDeleteHe really reminds me of my cat Jimmie, also a ginger tabby.
ReplyDeleteThose cats are gorgeous. My mum recently got the chance to go and she loved it. It's a shame that the country is nowhere near as safe as it used to be and the tourism has taken a real hit.
ReplyDeleteI love the perspective when you look at the cat head-on through your lens. He's a beauty!
