The book NEKO LAND is a stunning collection of cat photos taken by Alexandre Bonnefoy during his stay in Japan. Also featuring cute drawings of Japanese felines by children's book illustrator Delphine Vaufrey, this coffee table book is of remarkable quality and an absolute delight to leaf through.
"Tokyo is in perpetual motion; houses are destroyed and built. The old districts modernize and their sites become ideal hunting grounds for cats," writes Alexandre Bonnefoy. "These protected lands, surrounded by palisades, are also ideal shelters. The cats can rest quietly during the night, returning to the back of the houses and the quieter streets in the early morning."

NEKO LAND is published in French, but as the pictures and drawings take up the majority of the book, it's the perfect gift for cat lovers anywhere.

ReplyDeleteI find it fascinating that you're able to find cats wherever you go. I'm a cat lover but I must say that I seldom seem to see them when I'm out and about. Do you carry cans of tuna with you to attract them?

These cats are so kawaii!
ReplyDeleteCats are such adorable and loving animals, it's just too bad there are so many ferrel ones in the world. In our rural community a project was done for a year to capture and neuter as many as possible to keep the numbers down.
ReplyDeleteYou have captured them in many interesting poses.
Beautiful! I remember seeing lots of cats when I visited Japan. Even the feral ones generally looked pretty healthy.
