Just like many other Greek cities and islands, Athens is overflowing with stray cats (and dogs). That's because the concept of animals as pets is relatively new in Greece.
This photo essay by Earthstills is a tribute to the cats of Athens. It was inspired by the book The Complete Cats in the Sun by Hans Silvester.

ReplyDeleteUne de mes soeurs a vécu en Grèce et me disait qu'il y a effectivement beaucoup de chats partout, et que les Grecs les respectent beaucoup.
That's interesting about having pets is new to them! I hope these poor kitties are being taken care of! They are all so beautiful ;o)
ReplyDeleteZe zijn allemaal even lief, waar ze ook vandaan komen. Als er maar goed voor ze gezorgd wordt en als de mensen maar lief voor ze zijn, dan hebben ze een zonnig bestaan ;) Pawkisses :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful cats. By the way, we forgot to tell you but left you a little something on our blog last week!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute kitties! I love the concept of your blog. Travel is one of those things I don't mind spending a bit of money on because it's an experience you'll always remember, but it's frustrating when everyday things you can't avoid buying are incredibly overpriced. Case in point: shaving razors. We're a shaving company called Dorco and we want to change all that. In fact, our prices are up to 70% less than leading brands. Check them out for yourself and read what others have to say about the quality of our products at DorcoUSA.com. Demand More for Less, and save your money for the stuff that matters!
ReplyDeleteThey all are beautiful! Even though they're strays, we purr that someone is taking care of them.
ReplyDeleteI feel so bad about all of the feral cats in Greece, they don't revere them there as we do here and it is sad
ReplyDeleteSweet! The ocecats totally look like one I used to have, our loved Rocco.
