This cat of Vancouver is the main inspiration behind Melissa McClone's Christmas novella MISTLETOE MAGIC. When the author was asked to write a short Christmas story, she'd been dealing with a couple sick cats that not only meant trips to the vet but trips to an emergency animal hospital. Shasta was one of those cats.
"Unfortunately, Shasta didn't survive, but for the last weeks of his life, he was comfortable, warm, had plenty to eat and was loved. For me, that's what's animal rescue and fostering senior cats is all about," Melissa McClone says. "But I'm a romance writer and prefer happy endings. Christmas is a time for magic and miracles so in MISTLETOE MAGIC I wrote the ending I wanted for Shasta."
So nice:)
